 when i turn on my computer, it goes into ms dos mode. How do i get it to go back to normal mode. I have already attempted ctrl as its booting up then click #1 for normal, no change. It says files lost in ms dos mode. Any help would be appreciated.

then it says A:/ don't know what to do after that

I believe that looks very much like there is a disk in the A: ( floppy ) drive . And ther is no Windows on the A: drive.

    Check that out.

Remove the boot disk from the floppy drive! and reboot

    or

At the A prompt type C: It should look like A:\>C: hit enter.
At the C prompt type win should look like C:\>win hit enter windows should load if it is installed on the C drive
