When I click on Read Mail or Read News on the drop-down menu of the Mail section of the Explorer Bar (or of the Mail menu of the Tools section), the appropriate windows appear. But if I click on New Message, Send a Link or Send Page, nothing happens. What is wrong?

You don't have a default email program setup in the Internet Options\Programs?

Thanks. I had already done a search--nothing that really applies. My registry's path value is fine, too. I have also restored my Web settings in IE, and that didn't help, either.

Well, since all those steps on that web page didn't seem to help, try reinstalling IE and OE

If you go to the tools menu in IE and then click on the programs tab is OE listed in the E-mail field?

If you are running Windows 98 try this.
Shut down all open programs. Go to My Computer, view, folder options, file types. Find URL:MailTo protocol. Highlight it and then click on edit, then edit again. Make sure the program used to perform the operation is

    "C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSIMN.EXE" /mailurl:%1

Yes, OE is my default mail program in IE. I am using Windows XP, however.

I believe the URL:MailTo protocol should be the same in Windows XP. In Xp folder Options are under the tools menu however.

It should be exactly as sunny posted. Do a search on your computer for msimn.exe. That is where the URL: Mailto should point.

XP is the same as 98se.;)
