I have double checked under C:\Windows\Favorites and there are links in it. However, when I point to Start -> Favorites, my system is only able to display the folders but doesn't show any links at all. Any ideas?

What happens when you open Favorites from the Menu bar (either the one that says Favorites or the one with the Folder that is labeled Favorites)?
There is a registry hack for removing the Favorites folder from the Start menu but that doesn't sound as if it would apply here.

I don't really get what you meant by opening the Favorites folder in menu bar. However, it does works fine in IE6 Favorites menu. The Favorites menu in Start -> Favorites doesn't display any links I have stored. Instead, only folders that I have created can be seen and they are all empty.

I have tried removing favorites (as in don't show in start menu) using Microsoft's TweakUI but it doesn't seem to work. I suppose this is something identical to the registry hack that you have mentioned :)

    Ah, problem solved.

I tried my luck by trying to repair Internet Explorer and that solved my problem :)

Nonetheless, thanks for your response Jayt36 :)
