Boot Problem With XP

    Hi all,

    I've just tried to boot my laptop up this morning but to my horror i was receiving this message "Unmountable_boot_volume, " has anyone else ever encountered this message before and if they have is it just a case of booting from the XP CD and let Xp do a recovery on it?

    It's slightly easier than that.
    Boot to the CD, select repair console, and at the prompt, type:
    fixboot
    Again at the prompt, type: fixmbr
    This usually is all it takes.
