I have a pentium (r) 120 MHZ computer with a 56K modem, using microsoft windows 95, Microsoft outlook Express and Internet, Explorer/Windows Explorer, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft word.

Problem is that when I get forwarded mail, I cannot get it. There is a Microsoft logo in fron of the fwd message in the subject line of the forward message, and when i select it, it asks "open it or save to disk." I select the "open it ", but all it does is highlight the subject line on the incoming forwarded mail and does not open it, it just doesn't do anything.

I can receive mail okay that is not forwarded, but not ANY forwarded mail.

Can anyone out there help me?

    Thanks.....!!!!!!!!

When you choose to open the message does another window open? If so double click on the the icon in the subject line to open it. If another window opens keep doing this until you get to the message. The number of times you have to do this depends on the number of times the message has been forwarded. It's kind of dumb that it works that way but that's the way it is. You can save other people from having to do this if, when you forward a message to someone forward only the one with the message in it. You do this by clicking the forward button on the toolbar while you're viewing the window with the message. If you close all the windows and click once on the subject line in the inbox and then choose forward you'll send the whole thing and the next person will have to go through all the windows you went through plus another one for the time you forwarded it. Which way you do it may depend on whether or not the person recieving the message is in good standing with you at the time. ;) :)

I tried what Zander suggested, but it still didn't work. When I try to open forwarded mail, a screen comes up asking whether to "or save to disk ". I choose "open it" but it still just high lights the subject line in the forward message and no matter how many times I click on that, it goes back to "open it or save to disk" and never allows me to open any forwarded messages.
Thank you Zander, I appreciate your reply.

Some people when they forward email, they do so as an attachment, look for an envelope icon in the Attach line and double click on that.
However, this icon will only appear if the attachment extension is EML. Some other extensions [VBS, VBE, WSH, EXE, JS, SCR] will fall under the OE6 Security Restriction.
Tools\Options, click on Security tab, take off the check for Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus.
