For some **** reason add/remove programs will not show up in my control panel. I have no idea why. And I want to remove Internet Explorer so I can reinstall it because of problems with the flash player that I could not get resolved from the macromedia website. Is there any way to open the add/remove programs box manually?

    Hi mr_slayer

A small point - you cannot remove IE 6, but you can repair/reinstall it - see Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 318378

    Go to run command

    type

    appwiz.cpl

    click ok.

If it don't run from here you may need to reinstall by sfc /scannow.

You can not reinstall IE from there anyway, here is how

    run command

    type

    rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %windir%\Inf\ie.inf

This may actually fix your control panel problem.
