I use www.newegg.com to get all my online stuff.
Take a look at the Cheiftek, Antec and Chenming cases.
Make sure you have a about a 400 -450watt PS. Maybe a bit large, but they handle the load easier and provide for future additions in the case.

Mobos, I say ASUS as I never had a lick of problems with them.

Gaming, then you may want to start with a GF4 Ti4200 64Mb minimum for a video card. A comparison chart is here at tomshardware So you can see where what card sits where on the chart.

LiteOn is the brand of cdrom and cdrws that I use.
Get rounded ribbons as they are easier to tuck out of the airflow path. Be sure to have a fan(s) low and in the front blowing in and fan(s) high, near the ps, blowing out in the rear.
Good luck and a easy build. By the way the cases I listed are bloodless.

If this is your first build, I recommend the Intel D845GEBV2L motherboard. It is easy to set up,, comes with onboard video that’s quite good. It also has onboard sound and LAN. You can upgrade by adding a video card later if you get heavy into gaming.

Newegg is good, so is Fry’s if there’s one where you live. Throw in a 2.4ghz Intel P4 CPU, a 512MB stick of PC2700 RAM from Curtail or Kingston, a 80GB Western Digital HDD.

    LiteOn drives are good.
