I'm trying to upgrade my win95 to 98se but it says I need the upgrade (whatever that is) to do it? Is there a way I can just upgrade from my win98 se CD?

It it possible that you have the 98SE $20 UPDATE instead of the $99 UPGRADE

If this is true then it will it will not go in over 95. The UPDATE requires 98FE to be installed first.

You don't need to copy the contents of the CD to the hard drive.
Just rename win.com to win.bak and install.
Make sure you change from windows.000 to c:\windows when prompted.
