Operating system is Windows XP Pro.

    Problem:
When Windows first comes up it stops and gives me a choice of who wants to "LOG INâ€, etc. etc.

    Question:
How can I bypass this uterly stupid requirement and let Windows just come up and give me my desktop ready to go to work?

Hell, I’m 78 years old and want simple stuff. I use my computer - no one else "“ and "if" some else does use my computer so what!! Let’s get Windows going as soon as possible. I want to get up in the morning "“ turn on the computer "“ go take a **** "“ and when I return I want the desktop active and ready. So, I ask again - can that be done?

Thanks folks. Got my answer vi this bbs - don't know how to remove this posting!!

    Try this...

Go to Start > Run and type "control userpasswords2 ".

Uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer ".

Enter your password when it asks you to.

    You're done. Hope this helps....
