We are uninstalling and manually removing Norton AV due to a lockup problem we are having with one computer to see if Norton is causing a conflict.
We have gone through all the manual removal steps recommended by norton but have found a folder in Windows called VBox that contains a Symantec folder filled with files. We assume this was from our trial version we downloaded 2 yrs ago before buying Norton AV 2000 version 6.0.

My question is, can we delete that folder called Vbox or at the very least the Symantec folder in VBox? What will that do to Norton AV that is still being used on the other computer that is not having problems if VBox is removed?

Apparently VBox is software that the trial Norton came packaged with,,,,according to what I can find.

    Thanks,
    Mud

You can safely delete it. You're right in saying it's from the trial

Not really. I never had the Vbox folder until I downloaded and installed Norton Internet Security 2002

I have not used the trial versions of Norton.

I contains the installers for NIS and the Registration Data.

I installed NIS 2002 and un-installed it due to a bad install. ( my error )

I just ran the reload using the CDStart file in the VBOX/installers/symantec folder.

    PS
VBOX may only exist if the software is Downloaded.
