Problem loading mobo driver cd

I have installed a PC Chips M810D mobo( everything onboard)

Whilst trying to load the VGA,Audio , Modem drivers from the CD I keep getting a window up
Choose windows OS Path?
the message is
`Please choose the Windows OS correct path or direct the path by yourself.'(There is a browse option)

I am not sure what it is asking for here?
Where are my windows system files supposed to be ?
can someone tell me what I need to type here please.
I have now re-formatted 3 times and reloaded Win 98se and it keeps going pearshaped

 

Have you used the browse button and clicked on c:\windows folder? This is assuming that windows is in c:\windows.

Usually, you just put the install cd for the MOBO in the cd rom drive and the first screen you see is an install screen. The cd usually assumes that windows is in the c:\windows folder.

 

Yes I have tried entering C:\ WINDOWS\SYSTEM as the path but it says `wrong path'
The problem is this CD does not follow th normal pattern of installation disks. I have had 3 other 810LMR boards and they were the same difficult. It simply will not run through the drivers sequentially. It loads the VGA drivers ok then on reboot it asks for the path to OS if I cancel that the install crashes

There is no readme files to say which sound drivers it should have. It won't load either sound or modem drivers from the disk.

I have had to load them through the hardware wizard which comes up every time I reboot naturally looking for the correct drivers. Every file I try isn't correct.

For example on every re-boot the hw wizard looks for inf file PCI universal serial Bus drivers but I cannot find them on the install disk .
The win 98se USB drivers on the disk appear to be there but when selected the `inf.file' in the wizard greys out as if they don't exist and if I try loading 2000 or XP etc it crashes

 

Should be "C:\windows" not "C:\windows\system ".

Just use the browse button and click on the c:\windows folder.

The hardware wizard is trying to find the drivers on boot up.
Problem is itcan't seem to find some of them on the mobo install disk.
If I cancel the wizard and boot to desktop then use the setup on the disk it will load the agp drivers but nothing else. It gets stuck asking for the path to windows OS
Everything I type in is rejected as `incorrect path'


I have now managed to browse the disk and install the modem and sound drivers succesfully.

The main problem I have now is the wizard can't find the USB universal serial Bus drivers.

They should be on the install disk but the wizard is not finding them They appear to be there in the USB drivers section but they do not run because they do not appear to contain a inf file
