Test your scripting on this page and let us know how you make out:

    http://www.dcn.davis.ca.us/go/explorit/java/JavaScript.html

Any other browsers (Netscape, e.g.) installed?

Do you use any registry cleaners (Registry First Aid, Norton WinDoctor, EasyCleaner, RegScrubXP, RegCleaner, System Mechanic, etc.)?

Your Security Settings might be set to not allow script links to work. Try this:

On IE, go to the Tools menu > Internet Options > Security tab > Custom Level button > scroll to Scripting, ensure Active scripting is set to 'Enable'.

    That should solve the problem.

    Good luck.

Java has nothing whatever to do with javascript.

If you passed all the tests on that page, then it seems your scripting is OK.

If you'd like to try some javascript repairs anyway, try these.

Go to Start > Run and try re-registering some files by running these at the command line:

    regsvr32 msscript.ocx
    regsvr32 dispex.dll
    regsvr32 vbscript.dll
    regsvr32 scrrun.dll

    ---------------------------------------------------
Then check if Open for file-type .js is properly associated:

1.) Open Control Panel > Folder Options > File Types.

2.) Find .js extension and click on "Advanced ".

3.) Click on Open and then the Edit button.

4.) Check and make sure the Application used to perform action field has this: C:\WINDOWS\System32\WScript.exe "%1" %*
(modifying, of course, if C: is not your system drive and Windows is not your installation directory).

5.) Click OK until you're out of there.

    ---------------------------------------------------
Then, be sure wscript.exe is your default scripting engine:

1.) Go to Start > Run and type:
    cmd

    2.) Click OK.

3.) At the command prompt, type:
    cscript //H:WScript

(You should receive confirmation that wscript.exe is now your default scripting engine).

    4.) Type: exit

Are you talking about the popup in front of the main page where you configure a car?

    Do other popups work OK?

If that is the only site you are having problems with, and all the scripting tests worked out, then I doubt reinstalling IE will solve the problem.

But, it couldn't hurt, could it?

(BTW---I tried that site with cookies blocked and everything worked fine, so they don't appear to be required.)

    dbt3 Hi again

done all the basics yet ?
clear the cache: delete files mark the popup to [X]delete offline content, clear history--- delete cookies???

on the security tab with green and blue globe selected use the default level button, same on the advanced tab, use the programs tab reset [web settings] push
and mark the [X] internet explorer etc etc

I wonder what you've installed or even uninstalled lately even before problem cropt up ?

get a chevy that would fix Internet explorer for sure :)

    Hi any luck yet ?

My internet explorer used to get stuck , sort of---
somewhere between all this years pacths and the viruses and trojans the servers had this year , I had to check and uncheck >
tools internet options advanced [ ] reuse windows for launching shortcuts,, Do that with all ie's closed to be safe from control panel internet options, change it and go back change again..

Here is the link without the ie size and toolbar modifacations that
    that site makes
