I just upgraded to XP home with OE6 as my email app. Now when a friend sends me a PDF attachment I get the message "OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments...."

I get the same error message with a few other attachments from friends I know to be clean

How do I allow these buggas in?

This started before I installed SystemWorks Pro.

    Thanks,

    Kerry

.pdf files are not on the list so I don't know why they would be blocked. Maybe it was unsafe?
The only ones I know for sure that Outlook blocks are .exe and .vbs
If you know for sure a file is safe have your friend rename it.
For example; a file called mydemo.exe sent from a friend and you know is safe. Have your friend re-send the attachment as mydemo.txt. Make sure they put a reminder in the e mail for you to rename the file back on your end to mydemo.exe

You should be able to reverse the steps described here (which detail how to add file types to the "unsafe" list). Hopefully, doing this will allow the "buggas in "!

    Thanks Brett and ss.

The "here" site is a good reference to keep.

Also, I'll ask them to rename it and try again.

H'mmm, I removed PDF from the filter list and it still gives the "Removed access..." message.

I'm having them sent it a third time, perhaps OE stopped it during download, even before I viewed the email.

If the above doesn't work, then I'm out of ideas :(

AAAhg, it's still blocking it. Even after the clean send.
I'll post on a few more boards and see if I can get a solution.

    Thanks,

    Kerry
