    Use Win98, IE 6 and OE 6

Have been using the same password for some time to access my e mail.
A couple of days ago when I signed on to IE 6 and opened my email I was not asked for the password and my e mail messages were there.
I went into internet options/ accounts/ mail/ properties and changed the password (still using my old password). Now get a message server does not recognize the password and keeps asking for the password. No longer can get access to my email messages.

Are you talking about your ISP password? The one you use to sign on to the ISP? Your ISP can help you with that password. Usually you have to go to their web site to change your ISP password.

Or are you talking about an identity password in OE? You can take care of the identity password yourself.

It was the password for the ISP. I called them this morning and they reset my password and everything is working hunky dory now. Thanks for replying.
