    Hi all!

Yesterday I tried to download a number of updates from the corporate site but it didn´t allow me to specify a download path. When I retried today it worked as supposed.

Anyway, that´s not the issue but I noticed a new designation, well, new to me anyhow:

Windows XP 64-Bit Edition RTM and Windows XP RTM

Could anyone give a short explanation of RTM, please!

    Thanks for Your time,
    Christer

    Hi miniB!

I came back to give the answer myself which I found after som google-ing.

    RTM = Release To Manufacturing

However, is this the equivalent of "no SP1" or are those who never downloaded SP1 left out in the cold?

    I´m back again!

I checked the corporate site again and the RTM version contains a download of SP1 so, RTM = "no SP1 ".

I´ve got to stop talking to myself ...... ...... at least in public ...... ...... miniB, thanks for interrupting me ...... :)

    Just a GUESS

    Hi

    I was googling too !!

This is a guess from me not Google - I would be inclined to think it was without SP1 - if you are downloading from M$ they state :

    Windows XP - 32bit OR Windows XP - 64bit.

    Home users don't have the 64bit ( I don't think )

The 32bit must be after the RTM but with SP1

I will have a look for a more definitve answer as I have never seen the option before. Just thinking as it was a corporate site this may have been the reason for the options ......

I think I am talking to myself too ...... XP gets you like this !

    Found this - look like separate - RTM - SP1 - SP2

    RTM's SP's
