I think I might have messed up my XP Home's Wordpad application.

Its icon is located in my Program Files folder but not in it's own folder like everything else in there is. It's just loose.

    Is this right?

    Wordpad loads and works correctly.

My problem is I'm trying to add Compubridges's AutoSpell but I'm having problems loading the dictionary. I want to make absolutely sure the problem is not with my Wordpad.

One time when I clicked on the Wordpad short cut it opened Wordpad but not with the AutoSpell icon on the menu bar, as though there were two Wordpads.

    Thanks,

    Kerry

PS. Beware, there's lots of confusing stuff about Wordpad plus, different version numbers at different download sites, XP compatibility etc.. AutoSpell's Help menu has all sorts of errors. Very confusing for a newbe.

Not sure, but on Win98, Wordpad is located in c\windows. The other references to it are only shortcuts, such as in the Start Menu and Accessories folder.

Yup. That's where it was. Somehow I got another version 4.0 installed, besides XP's 5.1, when I was testing Notepad+ and WordpadPlus.

    Thank,

    Kerry
