Is there any way in XP Pro to belong to multiple domains?
I am a member of at least 3 win2k domains and would like for my laptop to be a member of all of them along with exchange rights if that is remotely possible.
    Thanks,
    Scott

Pretty sure you'll have to log off the first and re-log into the second.

I don't think that a client computer can join but one domain.
If you shut down, move to another domain and attempt to join a new one the old domain goes away along with the folder created in C:\Documents and Settings user.domain. If you go back to the origional domain and change settings to rejoin that domain windows creates a new folder in C:\Documents and settings.

Please prove me wrong. I would love to have the abuility to be a member of more than one domain.

You are correct I think about the issues if you unjoin a domain and join another. And one at a time is all I'm aware of.

Not clear though if you simply want to log on to different domains or have your PC a member of different ones. And if just a login, are the domains related at all or different companies/organizations altogether?

And I had a thought about loading multiple copies of the OS on your PC. Be interesting to see what the effect would be if each were a member of a different domain. Might even work. So if you have room and want to try ........

It's really a pain in the butt!
Maybe M$ has addressed this in Server 2003, or the next generation of OS after XP, I don't know.

Let me try to make it a little clearer.
I have several companies I come in and do contract work at their offices.

I have user accounts at each office and each one is a totally seperate Domain with no relation to each other.
I also have my own Domain at home in a lab enviroment.
Several of the companies I have exchange mail boxes at also.

I would love to be able to walk in to XYZ company with my laptop and log in with xyz\scott.
I would also love to walk into ABC company and log in to their domain as abc\scott

Of course I can leave my laptop in workgroup (no domain) and log in to each resource I need in these domains, but that is really a big pain and impossible to get local exchange mail delivered to my laptop.

I just can't for the life of me understand why M$ didn't make the drop down at the log on screen handle more than one domain!

Third-party software like MNM claims to support this.

I think I found the solution for me.
I just keep my notebook setup with no domain.
Then just change the workgroup name to match the domain name when I get on site. Log on to a local computer with domainname\username and password and boom! I have access to all resources on the domain.
