front page garbage

    Went to open an Excel document which I keep on my desktop
    as I use it often and was confronted with the following messages..
    (1)Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft XP Professional with Front Page.(2) Error 1076.Setup cannot find required files.
    Why do I need this Front Page stuff all of a sudden? I just need the excel sheet opened. Help.
