I am using Win98SE and IE 5.5. When IE opens more than one window the system hangs. When I ctrl alt del, the Close Program box shows the IE window is "not responding ". I have to end task and get out of IE. I can have multiple windows of other applications open. The problem only occurs when attempting to open multiple IE windows.

    Hi bstarr,

Suggest you try this - it works with 98SE + IE 6 :

Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > scroll down to MS IE > Remove - a dialogue box pops up with option to repair IE.

thanks Pete C, but IE 5.5 is not among the listed program in add/remove. I can't figure out any way to get at it to "repair ". More suggestions?

    IE Repair

Hi bstarr- Another way to access the IE Repair Tool is to go to Start|Run. In the box that pops up type in "msinfo32.exe ". (No quotation marks)then click OK. The System Information box will pop up. From the Tools menu, select IE Repair and run it! Hope this gets you back on your feet. Clydeo22.
