I want to hook up one computer with USB ports to a router. The other computer does not have any USB ports.
Both computers have network cards .
I want to hook up the USB computer to a router so that both computer can share a high speed internet cable connection.
Can this be done and how ?

    thanks

Hook them both up to the router. Run your cable or DSL modem straight into the router and your computers off the router - thats pretty standard fare - of course it can be done unless you are trying to say without saying it that you can't hook your modem into the router because its a USB modem and you need an RJ-45.

    ;)

    Schamish,
I believe that either one of these solutions would work with your environment.
The first one is a cable modem. I didn't see what connection you have in the post and asumed that this may help. http://broadband.motorola.com/noflash/dm100.html <--- Cable modem

If that solution did not work for your environment then try this:
    http://www.ctbs.ca/estore/itm00039.htm <--- converter

I tried to see if there is such a monster as a switch that would handle both USB and RJ-45 10/100 for your environment but came up short. My supplier is closed at this time. If I find out that such a monster exist, I will post it here.

Since both computers have network cards on them, I would do what Rockster2U has suggested. It is the easiest way and USB is slower than 10/100 connection.

    Hope that helps!!!
