When i access a site and click on one of the links it just sits there with the hour glass running but nothing happens if i can see the address in the link i can copy it into the the address bar click go and it works OK but problem is you cannot always see the address in the link. I Just run Ad-aware to see if it could help me out but no good.

keats--Is this something new? If so, did you install a new program (or a Windows Critical Update patch) just before this happened? Tell us if so and also tell us the version of IE and Windows you run.
In the meantime you could try using the Internet Explorer Repair Tool. In Win98, Start|Programs|Accessories|System Tools|System Information|Tools|click Internet Explorer Repair Tool|Wait.
And here is a page that might help
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;281679
(though the Repair Tool takes care of some of that)

I also more or less the same problem. I am using windows XP. Only difference is - i dont even get the hourglass when i click on a link. I find the same problem if i try and open my Hotmail inbox.
Most other links seem to be working ok. Anyone know where Internet explorer repair tool is in XP? I cant seem to find it anywhere. I went to the Microsoft Knowledge base - tried some of the things they suggested - but I dont know enough about computers to start delving into the registry. Any help would be most appreciated. This problem only started on 1st May, my computer appeared to freeze up so i re-booted, and when i came back the problem was there. It may not seem important but I trade on ebay a lot, and when someone makes a purchase, i receive an email with a link in it - i normally just click on the link to send the customer an invoice. The links are ok, as I can still copy and paste them into the browser.
