Is the BIOS set to boot off a CD first? If not then change it to boot the CD-Rom drive first and try that.

    Hi Debbie,

When you boot up beast hold down either F1, F2 0r Delete - depends on the make of Bios.

The Bios screen should appear - navigate to Boot and set the Boot order to CD-ROM > Floppy > HDD.

If you can do this Save and Exit - insert the Recovery Disk into the CD-ROM drive and boot.

Be aware that most Recovery Disks Format the HDD - ALL data will be lost.

If there is a repair option (unlikely) go for that.

    Good luck :)

In my experience either F1 or F2 will get you into the BIOS of an HP computer but it may be a different key look at this page for info on getting into the bios (it's about parallel port settings but has a good listing of BIOS info).

    Hope it helps
