This may not be an XP problem, could be 2000, but I have installed XP on my home machine and set up VPN access to a windows 2000 domain at work.

I am logging in to the VPN account using my domain credentials which have Domain Admins permissions.

Although the domain accepts the user account details, I am unable to browse the network. Neither can I ping any of the servers on the remote network. I have changed my work account details from "Remote access policy" to "Allow access" but that made no difference.

I feel that there must be something obvious that I have missed.

My home machine was windows 2000 and the VPN worked ok then, but I did have to take it into work and join the domain by sticking a NIC in it for the purpose. I suppose I could do the same now, but it should work without it really. The day will come when a dial-in user will live too far away to bring their home machine into work.

    Any help appreciated

Thanks for the reply. The information did help, not because it had the answers, but because it made me go back and check my own settings. All I did was put in an entry for the domain suffix and it all worked ok.

    Thanks
