Frontpage license number

Hi guys,

Does anyone knows how to find the Microsoft license number in the registry? I had Frontpage 2002 installed and the system crashed. To reinstall FP I need the cd key but I misplaced it (I have the original Office CD with the Office key but without the FP key). Anyone can help?

Run down Belarc Adviser, install it and it should give you your key unless you have Windows XP with SP1 for an OS (not sure then, but would still try)

Thanks again. I tried the Belarc but it did not work as I wanted. I got the ID of the program but it is unable to give me the CD key. Any other suggestion?

try that tool it does give you quite a bit of info about your system including about your operating system and other software that you have loaded on your harddrive. hope that helps

Yeah, pretty good piece of software however it failed to find the Frontpage product key. Interesting it found all the others Microsoft products correctly...

Have you tried M$ tech support? They can surely tell you how and as described, the problem should be a free tech support call.

No need to do that anymore. I found the right key. Saved me the ordeal of going through M$... However this is an interesting (potential) problem. There must be some piece of software that would find it, don't you think?

I understand that and they are right. it is just that in cases like mine, with a bought licensed product, sometimes we need what I needed 2 weeks ago. everyone is prone to misplace the original CD case or even lose it....

Ah, well, if M$ had a good customer service things would be better, I think...
