    When I turned on my pc it used to go straight to the desktop. Now it stops on the login screen and I have to click the icon to get to the desktop. Also after about 15 minutes of idle the screen saver starts but when i touch the keyboard or move the mouse I go back to the login icon. ??? What did I change to make this happen and how do I go back to the way it was?

    I am the only that will use this pc.

    Well Pete I did everything I could and I still get the welcome screen and have to click on the icon to login. I don't have to put in a password any more but the pc does not boot to the desktop as it did before.

    Well - not so easy OldSalty!!

    You have lost me on this one, but I'll keep on thinking, etc.

    Did this start after a Windows Update? If so suggest you uninstall the update (if possible) and see if the problem goes away.

    Why not repost with a more descriptive title - may draw a few of the geeks in :)
