Is there any ftp software which puts an entry in the explorer context menu to enable opening an ftp address when I right click on the address?
It seem laborious to copy and paste the url into an ftp app each time

    Hi Mane
I'm not sure I understand the question fully. Are you unable to use explorer to access FTP sites?

I mean I wish to open an ftp site using FlashF XP. I have to copy and paste the url into FlashXp each time.
I m looking for a method of right clicking on the url and hoping to open it in the ftp application.
Also I cant open many ftp sites by clicking on the url in Internet explorer and have to open them in an ftp program.

You probably are aware of the small proggie called "open selected url" which enables me to right click and open a http url without copying and pasting it in IE. I wish I coould do the same with ftp addresses.

Just make your FTP Client the default app for FTP files:

    1. Open My Computer
    2. Go to View - Options and select the File Types tab.
    3. Scroll down the list of registered file types until you find the file type "URL:File Transfer Protocol" and select it.
    4. Click the Edit button.
    5. Select the open line under Actions and click the Edit button.
    6. Uncheck the DDE check box.
    7. Type in the program path (i.e. "C:\Program Files\FlashF XP\FlashF XP.exe "), or browse for the correct filename.
    8. Click the Ok button, the Close button and then Close again.

Now, all url's pointing to an ftp site will opem in your app rather than in IE.
