how 2 remove this starup program

dllmem32.exe loads every time windows does. i got two programs that tell u all the start-up programs and the normal msconfig way.

now one day Norton decided to tell me that their was a virus and its filename was dllmem32. well i said clean it up then so it removed it. now when windows starts it says blah blah cant find this file.. i know its not a windows program. but this popup every time is doing my nut.

i guess there's somewhere in the registry i aint looked their actually.. so ill have a look.

any help appreciated

 

Get Startup Control Panel. It will show all your startups and saves deletd ones in case you want to put them back:

Well use it!

Go in and uncheck any program you don't recognize.

If you look at the path it may even point to that file.

It will be either in the registry, or win.ini.
Look in both places, and just delete the line you find it on.

WELL DUH! i have looked in them! i wouldnt have mentioned having them otherwise. its not in there!

 

had a look in the registry and searched for it. and bingo. found the bugger! deleted it and now it dosnt load! y the hell didnt i think of looking in the registry till now i dont know!
