IAMAPP.exe

Somethings wrong with my Norton Internet Security 2002.

I download the latest Kazaalite, and as always it asks me if i want to block or permit the application. I click permit, but when i do it says 'IMAPP.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.' I click 'don't send' and NIS shuts down completely.

It's not only Kazaalite. I downloaded latest Opera Web Browser, and same thing happens.

Im running it on XP Pro. What is the problem?

 

Norton. Try removing NIS completely (deleting program folders and registry entries) and reinstalling.

 

One problem: I moved house, and lost the CD.
I sort of fixed it now, by lowering the security level.

 

Many apps don't react too well when blocked by a firewall. Some don't even recognize that they have been unblocked until restarted.

Look in the options of NIS to see where apps are allowed access. Applications that have tried to access the internet should be listed, possibly with a notation that they have been blocked. Give them access before starting them the second time.
