    The Story:
I have given my older computer to my 7 yr old son. It has Windows95a on it and IE5.5.
I have purchased an Educational Program Software for him.

    The Problem:
When trying to Install it, I get a Prompt saying:
This product supports Windows 95b or later . It does not support Windows 95a or earlier.

    The Questions:
What do I have to do?
    Where do I get it?
    How do I fix this?

My thanks to Anyone that can help me.

Win 95a is the first release of windows 95. Win 95b(osr2) was released later (sort of a pre-release to win98) but could not be purchased from any retailer. It was only made available to the computer manufacturers so the only way you could get it was if you bought a computer that had it installed. It contained some things that the first release didn't such as support for usb devices. If you want to run the program on that computer you'll most likely have to install win98 or higher on it unless you can find somebody that has a copy of win95b somewhere. I could be wrong but I don't think you want to install win95b over the top of the previous system. Think it requires a format. You'd be way better off (just my opinion) to find a copy of win98 and install that.
