I am doing some volunteer work for a Veterans group. I need to print multiple copies of "Register Reports" to distribute in meetings. We are using Quicken 2003 Basic running on Windows ME.

I have no trouble printing a single copy but cannot find a way to print multiple copies. Do any of you know how this can be done?

Thanks for all help offered, Ed B

I don't have 2003 yet but when I print multiple copies I use printer setup. I have a Canon BJC-1000 and under settings there is a number of copies selection. I don't know if that is unique to the Canon or if it is typical for most printers. I used to have an Epson AP-2000 and I recall doing the same thing with that.

Quicken will not allow me to select multiple copies.

    Thanks for your reply!

We use an HP printer that will let us print multiple copies in every other application I have tried. But Quicken will not allow that screen to come up, the print job is sent directly to the printer as soon as a print button is clicked on. This is the case even if I use File and Print, or click on the print button within Quicken. This is evidently not unique to Quicken 2003, I use Quicken 99 and it will not let me print multiple copies of the register either. I had not checked it till after I had posted the first message.

Both versions will let me choose to print to a file or printer, and let me choose the type of file, but no choice when it comes to the number of copies to print. The only way I have found to work around this is to print to a file, convert it to Word format, then print the multiples. I am just trying to find a simpler way.

Thanks and best regards, Ed B

    Hi Ed,

I don't know how relevant this is, but I have Quicken 2000 and an HP Deskjet 520 for everyday printing. Assuming you want to print a Report, try this :

File > Printer Setup > Reports and Graphs

In the Printer Setup dialogue box > Setup > Advanced > Copy Count

Click on Copy Count and a box opens in which you can type the no. of copies :)

    I haven't tried it, but .....

    Hope this helps

I tried it Pete, and it works!

You are the person I've been looking for. I tried your suggestion and it works. This will make preparation for meetings much easier.

I knew there had to be a way, but I certainly could not find it.

Thank you very much, Ed B

Sorry, but I replied a little bit prematurely!

Well Pete, I was a little premature with my post saying that it worked. True enough, it worked with Quicken 99 here at home. But when I tried it at the place where I do the volunteer work, it would not work.

There is just no place on the Quicken 2003 page to select the number of pages to print.

I guess I will contact Quicken customer service and ask why they discontinued that part of the program.

Thanks anyway, you tried and I very much appreciate that.

    Best regards,

    Ed B

Sorry to hear that, Ed - 'fraid I can't help with Quicken 2003, the old 2000 does all I require of it.

If you find a solution please post back for the benefit of others

    Good luck!!

    Hi Ed B

You and I and many have been in this predicament more than once. Need multiply copies, want a print preview but program does not support it. On my w95 through my current XP one of the first programs I install is FinePrint. Rock solid, easy to install. It installs as a "printer ". Anytime your print dialog box or print setup is in view choose "FinePrint" as the installed printer. Click "print" and it sends the printed report directly to screen within FinePrints program. At this time you have numerious options, one of them being multiply copies. Select the count you need, it prints out on your default printer or can be directed to any printer you desire. In "Layout tab" use the "bypass option" to have the report identical to Quicken's printout. The "Free" version will include a "printed using FinePrint" on the lower left of the sheet. Installs on w95 through XP. A nice feature I use is the "defer" print option. As I surf from site to site, printing a page(s) to "FinePrint ", then click "defer ". Continue surfing / looking / printing. When done with collecting and printing / defering information, I can delete out the pages that are not important, decide how many of the pages I want to print on one sheet of paper (upto 8) and print it out.
