How do I get rid of pop ups???

I have a friend that I go to school with that is having a very bad problem with pop up ads.

What do you all use for a free pop up killer???

You'll get a zillon recommendations on popup ad killers...I use Popup Killer.

That said, I'd advise your friend to download, install, immediately update and then run Spybot and/or AdAware (I use them both.) Let them clean up any spyware they find. A lot of popups are generated by spyware so getting rid of spyware will get rid of the popups, too.

Thanks for your fast reply. My friend is suppose to register with this board today, so she should see this advice that you have given.

 

She could also switch to another browser like Opera or Mozilla, both of which have popup-blocking settings.

My friend that is looking for a good FREE pop up killer has been trying to get to this site for quite a few days, but everytime she punches in www.windowsbbs.com[/I,it keeps saying that the page is unavailable. I assured her that it wasn't.
