Anyone have any experience with SoundBlaster Creative Wave Studio 4.

When I open the program and try to record audio from a CD or from my TV audio, when I have the TV open, the meters on the right hand side move and the program appears to be recording but when I stop recording, the wave in the recorded window is a flat line and nothing was actually recorded.

Anyone have experience with this program?

Are you using the right recording source? Double click on the speaker icon in the system tray. Click on options\properties and then choose recording. Next click OK. This will get you to the window where you choose your recording source. If you want to record from a cd put a check mark in the box under cd audio. You can only choose one device at a time and you have to do this each time you want to use a different device for recording. If the device you want to use isn't listed click on options\properties again and in the box at the bottom of the window put a checkmark in front of those that you want to appear. Then click OK again and those that you checked should be there. I'm not quite sure what you would use for the TV thing. Are you plugging the line out on your TV into the line in on your sound card? If so, you would choose the line in. If it's something that's part of your video card I'm not sure as I don't have anything like it. Perhaps there's a line out from it that you can plug into the line in or perhaps there'll be an entry for it in the recording source applet. You might explain that a little better for me if you can't figure it out. Since you have Creative Wave Studio I take it you have an SB live sound card. If this is the case, there is one entry in the recording properties called "What U Hear ". You could use this for the TV if you can't find any other way. The only problem is that it will record any sound that your computer makes while you are recording. So if you play a cd and talk into the mic or fire up a dialup modem that goes through your speakers it will record all of those sounds. In other words, anything you can hear coming from your speakers will be recorded. This includes sounds you hear when using a program and you get an error message. It really doesn't matter as long as you don't do anything on the puter that makes any noise while you're recording. If you want to record from more than one source at one time this would be what you would want to use. Post back if this isn't what the problem is.

    Thanks.

    That worked.
I never thought of adjusting the settings in the Multimedia playback and recording settings under the speaker icon, it slipped my mind.

As for the TV thing, I have a ATI All In Wonder Pro and I can watch tv up in the corner of my screen while I work and if I select the proper setting now, I can record in wave studio.
