Installing windows 98 with floppy disk on Toshiba Sattelite laptop!

    Just bought a Toshiba laptop 2105CT and it only has a floppy disk drive no CD rom drive and it doesnt have a operating system on it, is there a way to install 98 on it without me buying an external CD rom drive, if so please give details on procedure, also need the procedure on installing with external CD rom drive as the notebook doesnt have a usb port for connecting external CD drive!

    I don't think you can install win98 from floppies. If you don't have a port somewhere, you certainly can't connect anything! You should have a port somewhere, even if it's not usb.

    I know MS did make 98FE on floppies as I had a set. There was over 30 of them. When I bought 98 on CD it had a paper in the box where you could order it from MS.

    Never heard of 98 on floppies, but if you say you had it, I guess it existed. I have no idea where you could get it.But how come your laptop doesn't have a port?

    There are a couple of ways to hook up an external CD-Rom, besides a USB port you can get one that connects to a parrallel port (slow) and you can get one that connects with a pcmcia card. These come with a floppy disk for installing the drivers.
