A PC I recently built is doing the following on some screens when trying to draw lines:

It works OK in safe/VGA mode and it obviously has a graphics/video problem.

Drivers all say they are working OK, but I am waiting for the CD to be returned so I can re load them

Graphics card is a 32Mb ATI Xpert 2000 Pro.

    Other HW is :

    MSI 745 Ultra Mobo
    AthlonXP 1800+
    256Mb DDR
    60GB IBM Deskstar

    Anyone seen this before?

    Thanks

I don't really know but I would try checking all the connections, reseat the video card just make sure that everything is tight. Another idea is to uninstall the video drivers and try reinstalling them in safe mode or maybe there are motherboard drivers that aren't installed. I never seen this before, I'm just grasping at straws here.

Wouldn't this be indicative a driver issue?

Probably a driver or a setting problem try changing the video settings and see if it helps the video card may be overdriving the monitor.

    just guessing
