    Hi all,

First off, let me say that I am new to the forum and that this site is great. Hello to everyone!

Secondly, let me get to my question. I am currently running Windows XP and have Sound Blaster Audigy soundcard. I recently reformatted and noticed a minor inconsistency in my system: when I boot, my volume levels are very high, and as soon as I adjust the volume via the volume control panel, it goes back down, only the levels are significantly lower now.

Has anyone else had this problem? I don't think it's that big of a deal really, but I'm just curious as to how I could fix this or why it's happening.

    Thanks in advance! :)
    You guys are cool.

    Hi, Euf ~

How are do you know your sound levels are high during boot? Do you mean immediately after booting to Windows?

What if you leave it alone until then, will it still go down as you indicated?

    Bryce,

Yeah, if I leave the sound levels alone after a fresh boot, they are pretty loud. If I adjust it down or up and then return it to where it was, it becomes louder.

See what I'm saying? It's like before a boot, the volume will be at 40 and will be very loud. After I adjust the volume to 50 and bring it back to 40 again, it's very soft at the same level (40).

    Hope that clarifies it?
