I hope I posted in the right area. I recently did a clean install of my OS,WIN98se. I'm getting an error when I start or boot up my PC. It says: Microsoft Networking at the Top.
Then it says Protocol number 0 Error 38 The computer name you specified is already in use on the network. To specify different name, double click network icon in control panel.
I have a cable Internet and the pages are loading very slow, first time I can ever remember that. I have 384MB of RAM.
    Any help appreaciated,,

Usually, all you have to do is right click on Network Neighborhood, click on Properties, then Identification tab and change the entry under "Computer Name." It's probably the default "Computer" or "OEMComputer" that Windows likes to use and there are others on your cable with the same default name. Just change it to whatever you want, it 'll demand a reboot and you shouldn't see that message again...unless you choose a name somebody else on your cable is using, that is. ;)
