    Hey guys!

I have QuickTime installed (Win XP Pro) and I can't make it play the movie trailers or any other web quicktime movies for that matter. The plug-in seems OK when I do the test in the apple site. The player by itself plays OK too. I uninstalled and reinstalled twice.

When I try to see a movie trailer (even selecting different speeds) all I get is a blank "screen" where the movie should be playing. Apple says that "QuickTime 5 is required" and I suppose that QT 6 should be OK. Their knowledge database does not help much. No big drama, just curiosity...

    Any ideas?

    Cheers!

In Program Files\Internet Explorer\Plugins there should be 6 npqtplugin dll.s (for various file-types) and QuickTimePlugin.class file. Are they all there?

Under Preferences > QuickTime Settings > Browser Plugins > MIME Settings, you can expand the lists and choose what file-types you want the QT plugin to handle in IE.

apeferreira --There is a new version of QuickTime (QuickTimePlayer.exe v6.1c) to overcome a security problem. Don't know if it would have any effect on your problem, but if you use QT frequently, you probably should get it.

    Thanks guys,

Yeah, the .class is in there, the right place and the preferences are as they should be with the MIME set correctly. I also have the V 6.1c installed last week.

Before, I had the V 6.0 and it was working OK. It seems that something changed in my system after the 6.1 was installed. Weird, isn't?

    Thanks for the suggestions.

    Cheers!

apeferreira--Sorry to hear the problem is not solved (but glad you installed v6.1c and got the problem before my recommendation!! :) )
If you go to the hyperlink I provided there are several places to get Help/Technical Support/Contact. May be worth a shot.
