When I installed my XP home, I had an ISA modem installed.
It came up with error 50 - the request is not suported. I thought it may be incompatibility with XP, so I purchased a new PCI Plug and Play modem.

Installed modem software that came with the modem and also upgrade from manufacturers website. Still has the same fault - has anyone else experienced this and how did you overcome the problem

    Hi, Nero ~

The first thing you should attempt is un- & re-installing your modem:
    • Right click 'My Computer' > 'Properties' > 'Hardware' tab
    • Click 'Device Manager' button > double-click 'Modems' > right-click your modem device > 'Uninstall' > 'OK' at warning
Exit 'Device Manager', reboot and it let XP discover and load native XP modem device software & drivers. See if that cures your problem.
