Microsoft Visual Studio

Can someone tell me please what does Microsoft Visual Studio.net consists of exactly ? I am asking this question coz in my country the government made an agrrements with Microsoft and they are going to sell Win XP , Office XP and Visual Studio.net with very reduced prices to all students.

Therefore I will see whether it's worthed buying the Visual Syudio as well.

One last question ... does it contain the Visual Basic as well ?
