I'm trying to change my display settings from
    640x480 16 col to 1024x768 - 256 col, but the
display properties window is so large I'm unable to click
on "Apply" for the new settings to take effect.
pushing Return doesn't work either. Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance

    rolsone,

Welcome to the board! Did you try the monitor controls? Try moving the screen up to see if you can access the apply button.

Thanks for your suggestion Mike, yeah I tried doing that but there
just wasn't enough movement, However I did fix the problem by
    doing the following:
Right click the desktop, click 'Properties' and then the 'Settings' tab.

    Click the 'Advanced' Button
    Click the 'Adapter' tab
    Click the 'Change' button
    Click 'Next' in the wizard
Select 'Show a list of drivers' and then click next
Wait for it to finish 'Building a Driver Information Database'
In the next window, select 'Show all Hardware'. It should list the correct
Video card make and model, click 'Next' finish the process and reboot.

I actually continued on to download new drivers - maybe I corrupted them somehow - I had to use the Windows CD for this.
    restarted and all was well!
