    Maybe this will help.

Another option is watch the screen on bootup (when it goes through bios & memory test) in the bottom lefthand corner of the screen a aplha-numeric code will appear. Write this number down exactly as it appears then check it with this site This should tell you Manufacter, Chipset. Also read this Thread to see how it was done.

A third option is to install Belarc or Aida32 and find the manufactuer.

I know this isn't exactly what you had in mind but I can't seem to find much about it.

    Hope it helps

Try D/Ling a proggy called Aida32 (I haven't got the URL, but you will find it in any search engine)
It is freeware and tells you everything you want to know about your PC.

Well thank you so much for your help I already know a hell of a lot more now than I did a few days ago.
I mostlikely will be back here again before too long looking for more help after I have pulled it all apart and cleaned it up, there are a few bits and pieces in there I have never seen before.
I have reason to believe, that this PC had been used in a Networt eviroment.
The Battery might be one thing that I have to look at I believe that it had been out of duty due to problems for more than 18 month.
    for now thanks a million
