    Okay, reboot...

I see that you did mention "that anit-virus thingy" in BIOS earlier. :) Boy, were you ever right on it early. I dropped the ball, my friend. Didn't I tell you earlier that you were the pro?

So now, after yet another FIXMBR & FIXBOOT, the PC boots like the good old days! Remember how, when we were kids, we would sometimes run so fast that our bodies couldn't keep up with our legs? Like that! When it boots, it's just blip-blip-blip ...... bang! ...... loading the desktop. Like you kicked the PC right in the rear end! :D

So 2 more things and I'm off your backs:

    - First, why does Norton not see that something real happened
in the MBR now during a scan?

    - Second, when I get to the Repair Console and am asked to
enter a numbered choice, what are all my choices since none
are given to me at that screen? (really need some help with
    this one)

Sometimes I think I'm a lot like all you other people here. Then along comes a "mirror" like this one and I see that I'm the only turkey amongst a bunch of chickens! :D

Will you still let me play with you, turkey aside???? :)

I have no idea why Norton wouldn't pick up the change. Ask symantec, it's their piece of bloatware (that's another story).

Just hit 1. at the repair console. It's the only option there is.
You should see it, although it's not obvious at first glance.
