recently, after upgrading to the most current version of SB, i began trying to locate the saved backup files, which used to be stored in a folder named Recovery in the SB program folder.

after "fixing" found problems, i like to erase all of the backups if i experience several days of trouble-free operation.

i looked in the backups folder. not there. and nothing in the recovery folder either. and since i do have settings configured to create backups.... i knew the files had to be somewhere.

    then i got my answer.

anyone looking for the Spybot backups will find them here...

the path in win xp and win2000....

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Recovery\overview.ini

    and in win98....

    C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Recovery

    hth

    Hi mr.mark,

Just out of curiousity, why not let SSD erase the backup items or do you and were just looking for the folder?

    Regards - Charles

    hi charles
for starters, using SB to shred the back ups wasn't doing anything about telling me where the files were stored, and that is the real point of my post... that v1.2 is not storing back ups in the same folder as v1.1 was.

yes, i could use the SB shredder to purge backups, but it is more efficient for me (and i prefer) to add that task to a list of other files i shred periodically with Eraser.

    :)
