Autocomplete in XP

I am bumfuzzled!!! We have two computers with XP Home. Autocomplete works on one perfectly, but it will not work on the other. As far as I can tell, all settings are identical. I have done Tools, IE options, content autocomplete, checked the first three. Also went to Advanced and checked "Allow inline autocomplete ". Any idea what the problem could be? Is there any way that autocomplete could be blocked????? The computer it works on is a Dell, the other is a Gateway.....Could that make a difference? Ideas, suggestions?

I have had an xp system on a HP desktop since January, and I still can't get autocomplete to work.

 

Check to make sure that the Protected Storage Service is started (Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services) and the startup type is set to automatic. If the service is already started, stop it and start it again (clears the autocomplete cache).
