Can anybody help in solving this issue that I am getting frequently when leaving the PC for a while then returning to find that the mouse pointer has frozen and have to reboot.
I am frustrated at this, I am thinking that it was a power down feature but I have put them all to never. So what is happening.
    I am running a 2600mhz 512 mb XP home with Norton virus:confused:

    Hi dmrose welcome

Not sure why this works for me :
    unplug mouse, plug back in
do you now have a mouse ?

If that doesnt do anything you'l need to state type of and
    make maybe model.

    have you updated mouse software.?

Hopefully a hardware guru will help.
    bye

    hi dmrose
Long shot with current info. My mouse problem was intermediate, worked good, then worked jerky. Traced the problem to a USB connection choice. Moved mouse to a ps/2 connection, problem stopped, worked fine.
If no solution found, will need to post full history... make/model, when did it work good, any hardware or software changes occur prior to problem.
