    Hi

I hope someone can help. I changed to storage location of e-mails to a separate partition on my C drive.

I want to copy the e-mails back to folders in OE but can't !
When I use Tools - Accounts - Mail tab - I am not given the option to import .DBX files. ( just some ext. for internet not DBX files ! When I open the partition with the files stored it only shows the folder but as the files do not relate to the extension OE is looking for - it doesn't show all the emails I want to restore ........

I have tried to open the .DAT file in the partition but do not know what to open them with. Do I transfer them back to ' My Documents ' and read them from there ?????

Please help - I really want to be able to read the e-mails I had stored.

    Hi miniB
Did you just store emails on a different partition, or did you actually point your storage to this new place?

    Hi

Relieved someone is out there ! I actually changed the storage folder for the files to the separate partition. I have changed it back now to C - before anything else happens.

The mail I want to copy or at least read is still on the partition. A MS article stated to simply copy the files back ! I can't even read them as Windows does not recognise .DBX.

Confirming - I actually changed the storage folder to this partition - is that even worse ?

    Hi again.
It does seem odd. It should be a simple mater of pointing the store back to that partition to read them?
Are you missing a step? some reading Scroll to #2
A little more. What version of OE are you using?

    Hi

I am smiling now - Thank You !

I copied the files stored in the partition to the main OE folder in C drive. I was reading the info. from the links & used the method of locating the tree etc then selected the folders/files I wanted to get back & to my amazement it worked. You have no idea how much this help means to me. I would have been awake all night as I hate things to go wrong !!!

I am a wee bit hesitant changing the store folder now. I may have been doing something wrong but the files were a lot easier to retrieve from C drive. I would like to store them somewhere else to save space.
I think I will clear the partition & then use it again but know I can copy to C if things go wrong next time - I hope.

Now I have to clean up the copies !

Thanks again - I really appreciate your advice & the links.
