No icons in Standard Toolbar in IE6 for Win 98

I am using IE6 on Windows 98. When I go into IE6 on the standard toolbar I cannot bring up the "icons ".

I right clicked on the standard toolbar and hit customize then hit "text options" and hit "show text labels ". Then in "icon options" I hit "small icons" or "large icons" but no icons show up.

Tried to repair IE6 with no success. Tried to update IE6 with the service pack, but no success.

How do I get back the icons ?

When you right click on a blank spot of your toolbar... do you have a checkmark beside standard buttons?

yes, the "Standard Buttons" have a check mark in front.

How many bars are visible, should be three four if include title-bar
?

maybe unlock tool-bar put courser over bottom edge see the double pointed arrows R/click and drag back in place,
Sometimes when unlocked it gets pushed up inadvertantly.

Or try pushing F11

Only have 3 toolbars. Tried F11, no change. Tried dragging, no change.

 

Thx everyone. Installed IE6 Service Pack. Problem cured.
