onboard video

    How do you turn off onboard video??????????????????

    on a compaq presario 6000?

    This was written by reboot in another thread. Might not hurt to try it.

    Somewhere in the BIOS setup (CMOS) there should be an option to turn off (Disable) the onboard video. Once you do that, then it won't come back, and you will be able to properly install the drivers for another Video Card.
    If you can't disable it in BIOS, then select it's properties in Device manager and put a tick in the box: "Disable in this hardware profile ".
