I have a problem with Outlook 2000. I still have an unopened email in my inbox - received on 19 March, which Outlook tries to open every time I start the program. For some reason, it can't do this, and tells me that the program will have to close.
I would delete it, but of course, can't start the program because Outlook is trying to open the last received email.
I've tried removing Outlook 2000 (and Office 2000 too) but when I reinstall, it picks up the old mailbox entries ... which end with the email of March 19!
To make things worse ... I don't even think the email is for me!!!

    Any suggestions?
Can anyone tell me where the emails are stored on my desktop?
Or how to remove all record of the Outlook Inbox, so I can start again (and lose the 250+ emails I had stored)?

    Thanks

This is where you outlook data is stored. Rename the file and start over with a clean file. You'll lose all your previous personal data though. It's a good idea to backup this file regularly with other data.

    c:\Documents and Settings\ "your own username or maybe administrator "\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst

    Problem solved - thanks guys!

Daizy and jdover - many thanks. The problem is solved, although it does now mean that I've lost all my old email - but at least now I'll know to take regular back-ups of the mailbox file!

Thanx again guys - hope I can return the favour some time.

    Steve
