I have windows 95 and Earthlink. Used to have AOl and thought I deleted all files. Now I cannot open email attachments with an XLS since there is no "aol exe ". What do I do to fix?

.xls files are Microsoft Office Excel files.

doesn't highlighting the .xls file by left mouse click then holding shift key down and right clicking file to select "OPEN WITH" then selecting always open with excel still work?

I used Regcleaner and downloaded Excel, and surprisingly everything worked! thanks for all the help--I wish that I had found this site before. I have spent many frustrating hours on the problem.:)

    Xram,

I don't want to scare you, but you will spend many more hours fixing stuff in the future too. :D

Even seasoned computer users have stuff go wrong that they don't know how to fix. That's why places like this exist, is to help all of us. Old & New. :)

I am glad you got it to working.

Thanks for posting back with the results. :)
